Skype is a free application for making audio and video calls over the Internet. It includes audio conference calling and instant text messaging, and offers premium services such as voicemail, email forwarding and video conference calls. You need to use third-party tools in order to record Skype conversations and conferences. There are several freeware programs available, some of which you can also upgrade in order to receive premium features.
Download MP3 Skype Recorder (see Resources). Unzip the downloaded file with a utility such as 7-zip and double-click "setup.exe" to start the installation. The software downloads and installs Microsoft's .Net framework for you if you do not already have it. Restart your computer to complete the installation. The recorder automatically monitors and records all Skype calls, including conference calls.
Download Skype Recorder (see Resources) and double-click "skypeaudio 10.exe" to install the software. Skype Recorder records calls from Skype and other instant messenger programs, and compresses the audio files on your hard drive. Record calls using a microphone, line-in input or speakers.
