How to Register My Garmin

By J. Johnson

Garmin sells several different types of electronics, including GPS navigation systems, cell phones, aviation panels, data cards and sports watches. No matter what type of Garmin product you have, it is beneficial to register it with the company. If you ever have problems with your Garmin product, it will be more convenient for the company to assist you and send you what you need if you've registered the product already. You will also receive information regarding your product warranty, as well as information about product recalls that pertain to your Garmin.

Step 1

Open your Internet browser and go to the Garmin homepage (see Resources).

Step 2

Click on the "Register" link, located near the top left-hand corner of the page.

Step 3

Find the type of Garmin product you're registering from the list provided. If you're registering a cell phone, for example, click "Phones."

Step 4

Click "Create One" to create your free Garmin account. You will need to enter your name, a new username and a password. Once your account is created, you will be logged in.

Step 5

Find the serial number on your Garmin product and enter it in the "Product Serial Number" field. If you're not sure where to find the serial number, you can click "Where Is My Serial Number?" and select your Garmin product from the drop-down menu.

Step 6

Type in your name and contact information when prompted to complete the registration. You will be required to enter an email address and a physical address, but a phone number will be optional.
