How to Reinstall Bonjour
Connectivity problems between your Apple device and computer may be caused by an error in Bonjour. The Bonjour program by Apple is a piece of software that allows your computer to discover devices including printers, audio players and computers on a local network, and by default is included on Macintosh computers. Bonjour is a required installation when installing Apple-related software such as iTunes on a Windows PC, as it allows the program to connect with your computer and Apple devices connected to the computer over a local network. A reinstallation of the Bonjour service corrects the connection problem and restores operability between the device and the computer.
Click the desktop's Start menu and click "Control Panel." Click "Uninstall a program" beneath the Programs section.
Click "Bonjour" in the list, and click "Uninstall" at the top of the menu. Click "Yes" and "Next" to proceed with the program's uninstallation.
Restart your computer by clicking the right arrow next to the "Shutdown" button in the Start menu.
Click "Restart" to confirm the program's restart, and wait for the computer to load back to the desktop. Visit the Apple support site (see Resources), and click "Download" underneath the Bonjour Print Services for Windows section.
Click "Run" and follow the Bonjour installation wizard's instructions. Select the folder you wish to store the Bonjour software, and click "Install."
Click "Finish" and click the Start menu, "All Programs" and "Bonjour" to open the reinstalled Bonjour program.
