On a functioning laptop, the CD ejection button is typically located on or near the disc drive and a quick press will eject the CD. On a Mac laptop, you can click and drag the CD icon to the trash, and it will eject. If a CD is stuck inside the laptop, however, and these options fail, you need a backup plan to retrieve the CD. Most laptop disc drives have a backup ejection mechanism that will open the disc drive in any situation.
Unfold one part of a paperclip to create a long, pointy tool.
Locate a small hole on or near your laptop's CD drive.
Insert the paperclip or toothpick in the hole and hold it there for two or three seconds. The disc drive should open and eject your CD.
