By Erika Dean

If you want to remove a page number in a Microsoft Word 2007 document, there are two ways to do so. You can remove a page number by clearing all page numbers using an option from the Word ribbon, or you can highlight and clear a page number inside a header or footer. It takes little time to remove page numbers in Word.

Remove Page Numbers Using the Word Ribbon

Step 1

Open the Word document that has a page number you want to remove.

Step 2

Click "Insert" from the top menu and look to the "Header & Footer" section. You can add or remove headers, footers and page numbers here.

Step 3

Click "Page Number" to view the Page Number menu.

Step 4

Select "Remove Page Numbers" from the drop-down menu. The page numbers on your document will be removed.

Remove Page Number Inside a Header or Footer

Step 1

Open the Word document that has a page number you want to remove.

Step 2

Double-click the header or footer to access the page number. The header or footer field will open.

Step 3

Highlight the page number you want to remove and click "Delete." The page number you selected will be removed.
