How to Remove About Blank From Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer offers three options that you can use to customize your homepage: custom, default and about:blank. With the custom option, you can set Internet Explorer to open a website of your choice on startup -- or anytime -- by clicking the Home icon or pressing "Alt" and "Home." The default option goes to msn.com. And about:blank opens a blank page. You can remove the about:blank page and replace it with any page you want.
Remove About:Blank from Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer.
Click in the "Address" field of the Explorer window (the place where "about:blank" appears). Type the address of the website you want to set as your homepage -- or one that you regularly visit -- and then press "Enter."
Go to the "Tools" menu. Choose "Internet Options."
Click the "General" tab. Under "Home Page," click the "Use Current" button and then click "OK." This will set the website you opened as your homepage and remove about:blank.
Tips & Warnings
- If you ever want to go back to seeing about:blank when you open Internet Explorer, go to "Internet Options," and under "Home Page," click the "Use Blank" button, then click "OK."
