How to Remove an Android App With No Uninstall

By Michael Koyan

The Android Market offers thousands of free and paid applications available to download to your Android smartphone. Occasionally, applications may be removed from the Android Market for a variety of reasons. In these instances, an application does not show up in the list of installed apps shown in the My Apps menu within the Market. Without access to an app's Android Market page, you are not able to select "Uninstall" from it as you would with your other installed applications. Remove these applications by accessing the Applications menu within your smartphone's settings.

Step 1

Press the "Menu" key at your Android smartphone's Home screen.

Step 2

Tap "Settings" from the options given.

Step 3

Select "Applications" from the list that appears.

Step 4

Tap "Manage Applications" to view a list of all installed applications.

Step 5

Select the application you want to uninstall from the list to view its information.

Step 6

Tap "Uninstall" to remove the application from your device.

Tips & Warnings

  • Alternatively, remove applications that are no longer in the Android Market by opening your smartphone's App Drawer, pressing and holding your finger over the app's icon, dragging it to the trash can at the bottom of the screen, holding it there until it says "Uninstall" and releasing your finger. Confirm your decision when prompted.
  • Some applications that were preinstalled on your device have no native method of removal.
