How to Remove Email Message Flags in Outlook
If you use flags to help you organize your email messages in Microsoft Outlook 2007, you may find that you need to remove those flags at some point. This process removes any flag associated with an email and can be done when you have finished dealing with the email or simply want to cancel the flag.
Things You'll Need
- Microsoft Outlook 2007
Start Microsoft Outlook 2007 and locate your email account that contains any flagged email messages. The flags are located to the right of the sender and subject header of the email message.
Select the email message that contains the flag you would like to remove. The email sender and subject header will turn dark gray once it's selected.
Choose the "Actions" menu from the top of the Outlook 2007 screen, point to "Follow Up" and click on "Clear Flag." The flag will disappear from the email message you have selected.
Add a new task to the "To-Do Bar" that has appeared on the right side of the Outlook 2007 screen or simply close the bar. You can close the "To-Do Bar" by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner of the bar.
Tips & Warnings
- If you have multiple email messages that contain flags, you can clear all these flags at the same time. Press and hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and click to select each flagged message that you want to remove before continuing with Step 3.
