How to Remove Names From Google Search

By Kenneth Coppens

One of the many features of the Google search engine is the ability to search for anybody's basic contact information, provided you have his first and last name. For privacy reasons, some people do not like to have their information available to anybody with a computer. In such cases, Google allows you to have your name, address and phone number completely removed from its search engine.

Step 1

Go to the Google name removal page at Google.com/help/pbremoval.html.

Step 2

Type in your name, location and phone number in the designated boxes. Double-check the information to ensure it is correct.

Step 3

Choose a reason for removing your name from the Google search results.

Step 4

Click “Submit Form” to confirm the changes. Your name will be removed from Google search results within 48 hours.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your information may still be visible on other search engines, even after removing it from Google.
