How to Remove Text Boxes From Word 2007

Text boxes are a useful feature in Microsoft Word 2007, but sometimes they just don’t look right. Deleting a text box is simple. Although not as basic, reconfiguring them is easy as well.

Step 1

Open Word 2007.

Step 2

Hover your pointer over the edge of the text box until you see the four-arrowed cursor appear.

Step 3

Click it. Sizing points will appear around the text box.

Step 4

Press the “Delete” key.

Tips & Warnings

  • To reconfigure the text box:
  • Place the cursor over the outer edge of the text box until you see the four-arrowed cursor appear. Click you right mouse button. A drop-down menu will appear.
  • Select the “Format Text Box…” option.
  • Click the “Layout” tab.
  • Select your "Wrapping Style" and "Horizontal Alignment" preferences.
