How to Remove the Babylon Search Tool

By Jesse Lanclos

Babylon is a language translation program. Babylon 7 and later versions install a Web browser search toolbar that is designed to make translating words from one language to another easy. The toolbar provides convenience for Web surfers who translate words frequently. For some computer users, however, this search toolbar is an annoyance. Removing this toolbar can be done using the same process as removing any program from a computer running the Windows operating system.

Step 1

Right-click the "Babylon" icon in the system tray near the time on the computer's taskbar, and select "Exit." Select "Yes" to confirm that you want to close the program.

Step 2

Click the Windows "Start" menu and select "Control Panel."

Step 3

Click "Uninstall a Program." A list of the computer's currently installed programs will appear.

Step 4

Select "Babylon Toolbar" or "Babylon Bar" and click "Uninstall." Confirm your selection by clicking "Yes" when prompted.

Step 5

Restart your computer for the changes to take affect.
