How to Remove the Yahoo Toolbar From Your Browser

The procedure to remove the Yahoo Toolbar from your browser varies depending on the web browser you are using. The Yahoo Toolbar is only available with Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, according to the Yahoo Toolbar help center. If you decide you no longer want to use the Yahoo Toolbar, you can easily remove it from your web browser. Doing so will only take you a couple of minutes.

Remove the Yahoo Toolbar in Mozilla Firefox

Step 1

Open Mozilla Firefox. Click "Tools" and select "Add-Ons" or "Extensions."

Step 2

Find "Yahoo Toolbar" in the list of currently-installed programs. Click on it. An option box appears below.

Step 3

Click "Uninstall" in the option box, and then click "Ok" to verify the removal of the toolbar. You'll now be prompted to restart Firefox. Close the browser to finish removing the Yahoo Toolbar.

Remove the Yahoo Toolbar in Internet Explorer

Step 1

Open "Control Panel" through the Windows start menu. Find the icon labeled "Add or Remove Programs." It may also read "Programs and Features," depending on your version of Windows.

Step 2

Scroll down, almost to the bottom of the list of programs. Locate "Yahoo Toolbar."

Step 3

Click on the toolbar, and then click "Remove." If you are currently running Internet Explorer, close the window and restart the browser.
