How to Remove Unwanted Toolbars from My Browser for Free

By Tim Mammadov

Web browser toolbars are add-on programs that enhance browser functionality. Usually they contain a search bar, links to websites, online surfing tools or software menus. Some toolbars are installed automatically as part of a software bundle, and some invade your computer with a malicious goal. The latter is spyware. You can usually uninstall toolbars using Windows' "Programs and Features." Spyware add-ons, however, are best removed by an anti-spyware tool.

Step 1

Click "Start" and "Control Panel."

Step 2

Click "Programs and Features" to start a new window.

Step 3

Select the toolbar from the list of currently installed programs, and click the "Uninstall" button.

Step 4

Click "Uninstall" in the confirmation window, and follow the step-by-step prompts to uninstall the toolbar.

Step 5

Restart your computer when prompted.
