How to Renew a Straight Talk Plan
Straight Talk is a prepaid cellular company that sells phones and service plan cards at Walmart. It provides service through the AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon networks. Straight Talk customers find the service reliable, with a simple, inexpensive pricing structure compared with most contract plans. The problem with Straight Talk is that the renewal process is among the most confusing, counterintuitive and buggy in the industry, especially if you pause and then renew service. Customer service is extremely helpful but painstakingly methodical. Prevent hours on the phone with Straight Talk by following a few simple steps to the letter.

Renewing a Straight Talk Plan Over the Phone
Gather the necessary information and documents: your Straight Talk phone number; cell phone serial number; credit, debit or Straight Talk Service Card; billing address and phone number if paying by credit or debit card; your mother's maiden name or security question answer; and your email address. Likely most of those items will not be necessary, but they may come in handy if unforeseen circumstances cause Straight Talk to ask you for identity confirmation.
Call the Straight Talk customer service number (see Resources) from a non-Straight Talk phone. Technically you can call with your Straight Talk phone if your current plan is still active, but you may have to refer to your Straight Talk phone's menu options and power it off and on during the call. It is easier to call from another phone.
