How to Report Hacking on Facebook

Along with your email, you might rely on Facebook for daily communication with your friends and family. Unfortunately, like any website with personal information, it is at risk of being hacked. If you notice things being posted under your username that you did not post or if your information is being changed, your account may have been compromised. If you suspect this is the case, you can use Facebook's tool to restore access to your account and change your password at the same time.

Click the "My Account is Compromised" button.

Identify your account using one of the provided methods and click the "Search" button.

Enter the displayed characters in the security box to proceed.

Click the "Reset Password" button when your profile is found. This will take you to the Password Recovery Tool.

Step 6

Log in to your email account associated with Facebook.

Step 7

Open the email from Facebook and copy the password code.

Step 8

Enter the password code into the Password Recovery Tool on Facebook.

Step 9

Enter a new password and then enter it again to confirm it.

Step 10

Choose your security question and answer it.

Step 11

Click "Save and Continue." You have now restored access to your Facebook account with a new password.
