How to Reset a Rogers Cable Box

It is necessary to have a cable box so that your television can pick up the digital signal that is issued from the cable provider. Cable boxes are available in digital and high definition formats. At times it may be necessary to have your cable box reset. This occurs if your cable box freezes up or loses its signal.

Things You'll Need

  • Rogers cable box
  • Cable box remote control
  • Television
  • Telephone

Step 1

Call the Rogers customer service line dedicated to troubleshooting issues with your cable service. Follow the voice prompts which indicate that you need to reset your cable box.

Step 2

Select the language you would like the reset instructions given in.

Step 3

Enter the telephone number that is associated with your Rogers cable service account. This allows the computer system to reference the correct cable box and institute a reset request.

Step 4

Continue listening to the telephone prompts until the recording confirms that your cable box has been re-authorized.

Step 5

Hang up the telephone and wait approximately 30 minutes for the reset to take effect.
