How to Reset a Zune to Factory Settings

By Andrew Tennyson

Whether you're experiencing technical problems with your Zune or just want to start over fresh, you can do so by performing a reset. How you go about resetting your Zune varies depending on the model you're using and which type of reset you want to perform. You can delete all of your content from the device using the Erase All Content tool, which is accessible via the Zune's Settings menu. If you don't have access to this menu or want to delete the firmware, you need to perform a hard manual reset to format and reinitialize the device.

Step 1

Select "Settings" to open the Zune's Settings screen.

Step 2

Select "Device," and then select "Sync Options."
