How to Reset an Outlook Express Password
Among the reasons to reset your Outlook Express password, the most important is due to Internet Service Provider (ISP) password updates. Perhaps your email account has been attacked recently. This will cause your ISP to reset your password on its server and will require you to call to get the updated password. If you are using Outlook Express to access an ISP email account, you will have to reset this password in Outlook Express, otherwise you will not gain access.
Open Outlook Express and allow it to completely load on your screen.
Click on the "Start" button in the bottom left corner of your computer's desktop. Select "Control Panel" and then the "Mail" icon. Choose "Show Profiles" and select the listing for the affected email account. Then select "Properties."
Select "E-mail Accounts" listed in "Properties." Again, select the affected email account. Select "Change." Next to the password text box, type in the new password. Ensure that "Remember Password" check box is selected. Select "OK" and then "Finish."
Press the "Send/Receive" button on the toolbar at the top of your Outlook Express screen. If the password has been reset, your email messages will now load. If not, repeat Steps 2 and 3.
