How to Reset BlueAnt

By Leonardo R. Grabkowski

If you want to sell or give away your BlueAnt device, consider resetting it first to clear its memory and saved connections. There are several BlueAnt devices, but resetting them involves the same basic process, with the exception of the differences between the standard and voice-activated devices. The standard devices include the Q2, T1, T8, Z9 and Z9i. The voice-activated devices include the Q1 and the V1.

Standard BlueAnt Devices

Step 1

Enter the Bluetooth menu on the phone you have paired with the BlueAnt. If you don't have a phone paired to the device, you may skip this step. Locate the BlueAnt device in the "Paired" section and delete it from the phone's system. The specific instructions to access your phone's Bluetooth menu vary widely between phones. If you are unsure, consult your device manual.

Step 2

Turn your phone off and then turn it back on. This allows the system to clear and eliminates the pairing connection between your phone and the BlueAnt device, which then allows you to reset the BlueAnt.

Step 3

Press and hold the "Volume Up," "Volume Down," and multifunction selector at the same time. After a few seconds, the device's lights will flash. The BlueAnt will now reset.

Voice-Activated BlueAnt Devices

Step 1

Follow the procedure in Section 1, Step 1 to delete the pairing information from your phone, and then turn the phone off and turn it back on.

Step 2

Verify that your BlueAnt is turned on. Push the "BlueAnt" button. When asked to speak a command, speak "Settings Menu."

Step 3

Speak "Reset" to reset the BlueAnt device. Speak "Yes" when asked to confirm.
