How to Reset My Voicemail Password for My Cell

Most mobile phone providers offer subscribers access to password protected voicemail services. The voicemail password is set by the subscriber and usually is not known by any other individual. A lost or forgotten password is no longer a problem thanks to advances made by mobile phone providers to ensure that voicemail users are able to reestablish connection to their voice messages.

Step 1

Dial "611" from your AT&T mobile phone and press "Talk/send." Press "1" to confirm your mobile phone number and press "3" for "Voicemail help." Press "3" to reset your voicemail password. Enter the billing zip code for the phone account. The automated system will reset your password and you will receive a text message with your temporary voicemail password. Enter the billing zip code for the phone account. The automated system will reset your password and you will receive a text message with your temporary voicemail password.

Step 2

Navigate to the AT&T website and log in to your myWireless Account. Click the "Services" link under "My account" and click "Reset voicemail password" under "Phone/Device Support." Click "Submit" in the Reset Voicemail Password screen to reset your password. You will receive a text message with your temporary password. Call your voicemail from your cell phone so that you can create a permanent password.

Step 3

Call AT&T customer service at 1-800-331-0500 from an outside phone line and enter your 10 digit wireless number phone number. Press "3" for "Voicemail Help" and "3" to reset your password. Enter your billing zipcode for the mobile number to verify the account. You will receive a text message with a temporary password to use so that you can create a new permanent password.

Step 4

Dial "*611" from your Verizon Wireless mobile phone or 1-866-837-3387 from any other phone. Notify the customer service agent that you would like to reset your voicemail password. Provide the agent with the account holder name and the account PIN, password or the account holder social security number to verify the account. The customer service agent will reset the phone's voicemail password and provide you with the temporary information. Access your voicemail and enter the temporary password so that you can create a new permanent password.

Step 5

Navigate to the Verizon Wireless website and log in to your My Verizon account. Click "Home" and select "More actions" under "I want to." Click "Change voicemail password" under "Devices." You will be given the option to reset your password or to set a new one.

Step 6

Navigate to the Sprint website and log in to your MySprint account. Click "Reset my voicemail" under "My subscribers." The website will reset your password to the last seven digits of your mobile phone. Access your voicemail from your mobile phone and log in using your temporary password. You can now create a new permanent password for your account.
