How to Reset My Yahoo Mail Password
Email security is important to consider when managing your online digital life. This is particularly true if you receive a lot of sensitive emails at your Yahoo! Mail email address. One of the most important and useful ways to secure your account is through the use of strong passwords. If your Yahoo! Mail account has a simple or old password, or if you feel that someone else may have obtained the password, it is a good idea to reset it to something new.
Open a browser window and navigate to Yahoo.com.
Click "Sign In" at the top right corner of the window.
Type your Yahoo! ID and password into their respective fields and then click "Sign In."
Click your name at the top right corner of the window and then click "Account Info."
Retype your Yahoo! ID and password and then click "Sign In."
Click "Change Your Password" in the "Sign-In and Security" section.
Type your current password into the "Current Password" field.
Type your new password into the "Choose a New Password" field and then retype it into the "Confirm Your New Password" field.
Click "Save" and then click "Continue."
Tips & Warnings
- Your password should always be at least 8 characters long, with a combination of letters -- both uppercase and lowercase -- symbols and numbers to ensure that it is secure.
- Replacing letters with symbols or characters can help you remember the password -- for example replacing an "o" with "@" or "0".
