The Alcatel OT-800 feature phone, like most cellphones, allows you to perform two types of resets: a soft reset and a hard reset. A soft reset is useful if the phone freezes or if you notice its software is lagging. A soft reset does not delete any of your data or settings. Hard resets are useful when you need to clear all data and information, such as when you are getting rid of the phone.
Press and hold the "End" button, which is located above the "P" key and displays a red half-circle, until the phone turns off. Hold the "End" button again until the phone turns on to complete the soft reset. If your phone is frozen and the "End" button does not work, perform a soft reset as described in Step 2.
Place your fingernail in the small space between the phone and the cover near the bottom of the phone and lift up to remove the cover. Pull the battery out of the compartment and then reinsert it so that the contacts touch the terminals. Reinstall the cover by placing it over the compartment and pressing down until it clicks in place. Press and hold the "End" button until the phone turns on to finish the soft reset.
Press and hold the "#" and "End" buttons simultaneously to perform a hard reset on the phone. The phone shuts off and turns on again automatically when the reset is completed. All personal data that is not on the SIM card will be lost.
