Digital light projection (DLP) HDTVs use an incandescent bulb to project the TV signal onto the rear-projection screen. The life of the bulb is rated by the manufacturer of the HDTV--for example, the Samsung corporation--using a built-in countdown bulb timer. The lamp timer must be reset to zero once the new bulb has been installed. You can reset the lamp timer of a Samsung HDTV by activating the service menu. This should be done immediately after the new bulb has been installed.
Step 1
Aim the Samsung remote at the front of the Samsung HDTV--if you know where the infrared sensor on the front of the Samsung is located, aim the front of the remote directly at it.
