How to Reset the SonicWALL 4060
The Sonicwall Pro 4060 is an external firewall device used to protect computers on a network from viruses, malware and other online threats. You might need to reset your Sonicwall Pro 4060 should you experience problems with the firmware or accidentally make configuration changes you cannot fix. Resetting the Sonicwall Pro 4060 involves putting the device into "Safe Mode." You should allow approximately 10 minutes for this task.
Things You'll Need
- Thin-tipped object (for pressing the "Reset" button)
Press the "Reset" button on the back of the Sonicwall Pro 4060 using a thin-tipped object for at least 1 second. The device will enter "Safe Mode."
Open a new Web browser window and enter "192.168.168.168" (no quotation marks) into the search bar. Hit enter to view the device's "Safe Mode" page.
Select "Uploaded Firmware with Factory Default Settings" from the "Firmware Management" column. This firmware will reset the Sonicwall Pro 4060 to its default IP address, username and password.
Click "Boot" next to "Uploaded Firmware with Factory Default Settings." This will transfer the default factory settings to the Sonicwall Pro 4060.
