How to Restore an HP Pavilion

By Maya Walker

An HP Pavilion may be restored to factory settings using the PC System Recovery program pre-installed on the computer. The PC System Recovery program is installed on a special partition on the computer's hard drive. The program will reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system on the computer. Restoration may be necessary if the computer's hard drive is corrupted or damaged. The computer also can be restored if it is infected with a virus.
