How to Restore Lost Apps on iPhones

Apple's iPhone smartphone device lets users download applications from the iTunes App Store. The device has a limited amount of memory, however, so Apple also included the ability to remove applications that you no longer wish to use. Since iTunes keeps a record of the applications you download on your device when you sync it with your computer, If you accidentally delete or lose an application in any way, you can restore these lost applications by syncing your iPhone with iTunes.

Things You'll Need

  • iPhone USB connection cable

Step 1

Connect the iPhone to the computer via the USB connection cable that came with the device. Double-click the iTunes application icon to launch the application.

Step 2

Click on the iPhone listed beneath the "Devices" heading in the iTunes application window.

Step 3

Click the "Apps" tab to view the applications that have been downloaded onto your iPhone. Any application without a checkmark is an application that is no longer on your iPhone.

Step 4

Place a checkmark next to the lost applications that you want to restore.

Step 5

Click the "Apply" button, followed by the "Sync" button to save the changes and restore the application to the iPhone.
