How to Run Android on Your iPod Touch

Android is a operating system for mobile devices and was developed by Google. The iPod Touch uses the iOS operating system from Apple. You can run the Android OS on your iPod Touch instead of iOS. First, you must modify the operating system so that you can install software not authorized by Apple. This is known as "jailbreaking." Once the device is jailbroken, you can download and install a modification application on your device that will allow you to run the Android operating system on your iPod Touch. Note that, despite statements on several unofficial websites, jailbreaking an iPod Touch will void the warranty from Apple, the same as jailbreaking an iPhone will.

Step

Jailbreak your iPod Touch device. Tap the "Safari" icon on the home screen of your device. Enter "jailbreakme.com" in the Safari search bar and tap the "Go" key. Slide the arrow icon across your device's screen as instructed to jailbreak your iPod Touch. Select the "User" option. Your device will now automatically reboot. When your iPod Touch restarts, you will find a Cydia icon on your home screen indicating that you have successfully jailbroken your iPod Touch device.

Tap the "Cydia" application on your jailbroken iPod touch.
