How to Save Apps to an SD Card

By Joshua Benjamin

SD cards are the medium of choice for storing information and data on most digital cameras. They often are used as extra storage space in phones and PDAs due to their small size. Many computers can use SD cards, provided they are equipped with an SD card reader, in much the same way that they use a USB drive.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with SD Card Reader

Step 1

Insert the SD card into your computer's SD card reader. If you do not have an SD card reader, you can typically purchase one that plugs into your computer's USB port from any electronics store.

Step 2

Open "My Computer."

Step 3

Scroll down the list of drives until you locate the drive pertaining to the SD card. It will be listed under the "removable media" section.

Step 4

Double-click the drive icon.

Step 5

Open another instance of My Computer and browse to the app you wish to copy onto the SD card.

Step 6

Drag and drop the application file(s) into the SD card window.
