How to Save Voicemail Messages From the iPhone

By Brian Cleary

Every once in a while you find yourself listening to a voice mail message that you just can't or shouldn't delete. You might have a message from a relative singing happy birthday, or a message from a colleague with sensitive information you need to save for future reference. Saving the voice mail messages from your iPhone is as easy as connecting it to a PC; you probably already have experience doing this with your iPhone.

Things You'll Need

  • Two way audio line
  • PC with an audio line-in jack
  • Voice recording software for your PC

Step 1

Download and install a voice recording software program on your PC. There are many options available online, many of them for free.

Step 2

Connect your iPhone to your PC using a two-way audio line. One end plugs into the audio jack on your iPhone and the other plugs into the audio line-in jack on your PC.

Step 3

Open the voice recording software program and press record. Play the message on your iPhone. You won't hear the sound as it is being played and recorded directly through the audio line.

Step 4

Press the Stop button in your recording software after the message has finished recording. With the message now on your computer, many recording software programs give you the option to burn the message onto a CD, save it to a USB thumb drive or even email it to a friend.
