How to Search for Songs by Words

By Wesley DeBoy

Searching for a particular song by some of its lyrics can sometimes be difficult. However, if you follow some basic guidelines, you'll greatly improve your chances of finding the song you are looking for. You can start your song search by utilizing a general search engine, such as google.com, or a more specific music search engine, such as the one found at songlyrics.com.

Using a General Search Engine

Step 1

Open your web browser and navigate to your preferred search engine.

Step 2

Type the words from the song you are searching for and press "Enter." When typing in the words from the song, make sure you only type the words you know. Slimming down the search phrase to only include the words you know is advised.

Step 3

Look through the results for song titles that match the words you typed in. If you do not find a match on the first page of results, try revising your search with another section of words from the song.
