A variety of smartphone apps allow you to send faxes straight from your cell phone. Download the application, and you can fax PDFs, documents and images that are stored in your phone's memory or on an inserted SD card.
Pay Fax Apps
The Breezy app was originally designed as a printing application, but you can now use it to send faxes. You can also send faxes can to a variety of countries like U.S., Canada, the UK, Japan, Germany, France, Brazil and Argentina using the app. At the time of publication, a pack of 10 Breezy faxes currently starts at $1.99.
After installing the app, you'll see a new Breezy option on your menu when you open documents. To send a fax using Breezy, open a document on your phone, select Breezy menu option and enter the fax number. The app is available for both Android and iOS.
The iFax app allows you to send, receive and edit faxes from your cell phone. With the edit features you can create a fax cover page, include notes and fill in web forms. The Quickbooks Small Business Blog reports that iFax lets users create faxes from PDFs, Microsoft Office files and images.
The iFax application is available for both Android and iOS. The app itself is free. Prices start at 99 cents per outgoing fax and a dedicated incoming fax number starts at $27.99 a month, at the time of publication.
Techology Personalized reports that the eFax app is simple to use and allows users to add digital signatures to outgoing documents. To use eFax, smartphone users must first create an account on the eFax website.
Free Fax Apps
A few provide free faxing services using smartphones. Free Fax from PC-Fax.com allows users to send one free fax page per day to over 50 countries. The app is available for Android only and supports image files, text files and PDFs.
Fax Burner is a free fax option for iOS users. According to MacWorld, the app allows you to send and receive messages for free on a temporary fax number that expires after 24 hours. You can only send a total of five faxes with the free account but you can receive up to 25 documents a month.
