How to Send Email to a Cingular Cell Phone

By Cooper Temple

Most of today's cell phones have the capacity to send and receive email messages. All wireless service providers use unique email addresses for users. In 2007, Cingular was purchased by AT&T. Cell phone users with Cingular at the time of the buyout have the ability to use a Cingular or AT&T address to receive email messages on their phones.

Send an Email to a Cingular Address

Step 1

Use the following format to send an email to people using a Cingular cell phone address: 10-digitmobilenumber@cingularme.com (e.g. (814) 555-1234 is 8145551234@cingularme.com).

Step 2

Type the recipient's cell phone address into the "To" field of the e-mail.

Step 3

Click once on the "Send" button.

Step 4

Check your inbox for an "undeliverable" mail message to make certain your message was sent properly. If you receive one of these messages, make certain you typed the address correctly.
