How to Set a Default City for the Weather Application on iPhone

The Apple iPhone comes pre-installed with a weather application that allows you to view the current weather and 7-day forecast for cities all over the world. Setting the default city for the weather application is a simple and quick task.

Things You'll Need

  • iPhone

Step 1

Open the weather application by clicking on its icon.

Step 2

Click on the "i" button at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the "Settings" panel for the weather application.

Step 3

Click on the "+" button at the top left-hand corner of the screen to add a city.

Step 4

Type in a city and state, or type a zip code in the box at the top of the screen. Below the box, cities matching your description will appear. Click on the name of the city you would like to add.

Step 5

Repeat the process if you would like to add more cities to your weather application. The application will display cities in the order in which they have been added.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you would like to rearrange the order in which the cities appear in your weather application, delete and re-add them in your desired order. Change the weather for each city to Fahrenheit or Celsius by clicking on the "i" button and then selecting "F" or "C" at the bottom of the screen. By default, all weather is displayed in Fahrenheit.To delete a city, click on "i," then click on the red box to the left of the city's name, and then select "Delete" to the right of the city's name.
