How to Set the Favorites Tool Bar

By Leonardo R. Grabkowski

Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox have features known as the favorites bar or bookmarks toolbar. The process of setting the favorites bar involves enabling it, then adding your favorite websites to it. The bar is located on the standard toolbar. The web pages you add to the bar will be displayed as a link, along with the page's graphic icon if the page has one.

Step 1

Right-click on the Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox tool bar. This is the area beneath the web address box.

Step 2

Click the "Favorites Bar" for Internet Explorer. This will enable the Favorites bar. In Firefox, this will read "Bookmarks Toolbar." If it has a check next to it, it's already enabled.

Step 3

Visit the website you want to add to the favorites or bookmarks toolbar. Click "View," then select "Add to Favorites Bar" or "Add to Bookmarks Toolbar."

Step 4

Repeat the process to add more websites to your favorites bar or bookmarks toolbar.
