How to Set Up a Karaoke System
Karaoke is one of the most popular activities at get-togethers and parties today. However, setup often can be frustrating and confusing, but it doesn't have to be that way. Follow these simple steps to set up your own karaoke system.
Things You'll Need
- Karaoke disk system2 speakersTVAmpMixer2 microphones (corded or wireless)Cables (these are included with the components)
Run your cables from the karaoke system to the TV. These should come out of a "line out" from the karaoke system.
Connect the output cables included with the disc system for audio into the back (or the side, if applicable) of the mixer. It's usually possible to connect these to auxiliary plugs or a mixer channel. Connecting these into the auxiliary plugs can lead to better control of volume levels.
Run your microphone cords into the mixer, making sure the connections are snug. The plugs are placed in the front or side of the mixer to allow the singer to move around.
Connect the mixer to the amp using the appropriate cord. This will be a mixer output to an amplifier input.
Run the output cables of the amplifier to the speakers you'll be using.
Plug in the power supply to your system. It is important to check that the system is hooked up correctly before powering up to avoid damaged equipment.
