How to Set Up Ooma Voicemail
Ooma is a landline phone replacement option that uses voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Your Ooma device includes voice mail. According to the developers, it provides an easy-to-use answering service called the "Ooma Voicemail System (OVS)." Once configured, you can retrieve voice mail messages conveniently at home or away from the home. Setting up and listening to your voice mail is a quick process. Within minutes, you can add a security PIN to protect your account from unauthorized users, include a greeting and listen to messages.
Setting Up Ooma Voice Mail
Pick up your phone and press the "Play" button on your Ooma device. This launches the voice mail setup wizard.
Follow the guided prompts on the wizard to set up your voice mail. For example, when prompted, enter the security PIN and record your name and greeting. This takes about two minutes.
Hang up your phone when you finish.
Using Ooma Voice Mail
Press the "Play" button on your Ooma device if it is blinking red. This indicates you have a new message. If prompted, enter your security PIN. Your voice mail starts to play through the speaker.
Pick up your phone if you want to listen to the messages privately on the handset. At the end of the message, press the "Send to Voicemail" button to stop playing the message and mark it as read. Ooma voice mail saves the message so you can replay it later.
Press the "Trash" button to delete a message after listening to it. After you delete a message, the next message begins to play.
Press the "Rewind" or "Fast-Forward" buttons during a message to return back to the beginning of the message or skip to the next.
Press the "Skip" button if you want to skip a message not intended for you. The message will continue to be marked as new and the Play button will continue to blink after you have finished listening to the other messages.
