How to Set Your Homepage

By Techwalla Contributor

It can be annoying to open your Web browser and wait for a page to load that you don't want to use, and then have to type in the URL where you want to start browsing. You can set a default homepage in all the major Internet browsers, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. You just have to access your Internet options.

Internet Explorer

Step 1

Launch the webpage you want to use as your homepage.

Step 2

Click the "Tools" button, indicated by a gear icon, and click "Internet options."

Step 3

Click the "Use current" button under the Home Page section and click "OK."

Mozilla Firefox

Step 1

Navigate to the webpage you want to assign as your homepage.

Step 2

Click and hold the icon next to the website address on your browser address bar. Drag the icon to the "Home" button on the other side of your address bar.

Step 3

Click "Yes" to confirm that you want the open webpage to be your homepage.

Google Chrome

Step 1

Click the "Wrench" and click "Options."

Step 2

Click to open the "Basics" tab.

Step 3

Type in the URL of the homepage you want to use.
