Samsung Electronics, which began in Korea, has provided consumers with the latest technology in appliances for more than 70 years. As a cell phone manufacturer, Samsung makes flip phones, bar and slider phones, and touchscreen smartphones. Although the act of shutting off a Samsung phone varies slightly among models, the process is similar for all styles.

Step 1

Press and hold the "End" button on your Samsung bar or slider phone, if it has a stationary touch pad. Keep the button depressed for approximately five seconds, until the screen goes dark. This button may be labeled "End" or "Power," and it may be red in color. Alternatively, it may have an icon that looks like a circle with a line through its center. It is also the button you push to end calls.
