How to Stop BitDefender Antivirus
BitDefender Antivirus protects your computer from threats that arise daily. It monitors your computer in real time and alerts you of possible security breaches and infected files. However, some legitimate programs that require the Internet cannot run unless you stop BitDefender. Some programs you try to install also run into installation errors when your antivirus program is running. In this case, you can temporarily stop the application, then turn it back on anytime you want.
Right-click the "BitDefender" icon located on the system tray next to the clock and click "Basic Settings" from the pop-up menu.
Select "Antivirus" and click the "Disable" check box to disable the antivirus application. Click "OK" to save the changes.
Disable BitDefender from launching at computer startup. To do so, click the Windows "Start" menu and click "Run" or "Start Search." Type "msconfig" (Without quotes) and click "OK" to launch the Systems Configuration Utility.
Click the "Startup" tab and uncheck the "BitDefender" check box. Click "OK" to save the changes. When prompted. restart your computer. To automatically relaunch BitDefender at startup, go to the Systems Configuration Utility and place a check on the application.
