How to Stop Firefox Pop-Ups

By Chris Miksen

The Mozilla Firefox Internet browser is one of the many alternatives to Internet Explorer that comes standard for all Windows computers and the Safari browser that comes standard with any Macs. Firefox features many options that neither Safari nor Internet Explorer offer, including a plethora of applications to enhance the web-browsing experience. Like all browsers, pop-ups occur on Firefox, but blocking them is simple and fast.

Step 1

Click on the "Tools" pull-down menu and select "Options."

Step 2

Select the "Content" tab.

Step 3

Click the "Block Pop-up Windows" checkbox so that it is checked.

Step 4

Click the "Exceptions" option and add any site whose pop-ups you do not wish to be blocked. Click "Allow."

Step 5

Click "OK."
