How to Sync a Mouse to an Apple Mac
When you use one of Apple's Mac computers, you may have a variety of cables plugged into it to connect peripheral devices, such as a printer, external speakers, a monitor, an external hard drive, scanner, keyboard and mouse. If you dislike having a tangled mess of cables, you might prefer to use wireless devices as much as possible. Recently made desktop Macs come with the wireless "Magic Mouse," which you can easily sync with the computer.

Use Wireless Mouse
Press the "Power" button on your Mac to turn it on.
Slide the power switch upward on the bottom of the wireless Magic Mouse to turn it on. The indicator light will glow for five seconds. If the light does not turn on, you may need to replace the batteries.
Slide the battery latch cover down and remove the battery latch cover if you need to change the batteries. Use two AA batteries of the same brand and type. The Magic Mouse can use lithium, alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries. Insert the batteries so that the plus sign faces up, matching with the plus sign in the battery compartment. Put the battery cover back on and slide the latch closed. Slide the power switch up to turn on the Magic Mouse.
Observe the status light on the bottom of the Magic Mouse. If it blinks, that means the mouse is in discovery mode and waiting to pair with the Mac. Apple pairs the included Magic Mouse with its computer, so it should sync automatically within a few seconds. You will see the "Connected" message appear on the Mac's screen. Click on the mouse and start using it.
Use Wired Mouse
Plug a wired mouse into the USB port on a keyboard connected to your Mac or into a USB port on the Mac if the wireless mouse doesn't sync.
Click on the Apple logo at the top of the screen, and then click "System Preferences."
Click on "Bluetooth."
Click on the "On" check box, and then click on the "Discoverable" check box to enable wireless Bluetooth connections between your Magic Mouse and the Mac. If the Mouse and Mac don't establish a connection automatically, click on "Advanced."
Click on the "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at Startup When No Input Device is Present" check box to select it, and then click "OK." Follow the onscreen instructions to allow the computer to recognize and pair with the wireless mouse.
