How to Sync My Android With Mac Calendar

By James Crider

Phones that use the Google Android operating system rely on Google services for information management, like Gmail. The built-in Calendar app for Android automatically syncs with the same Google Calendar account that your Gmail username and password lets you use. If you want to add a calendar from your Apple Mac computer, the easiest way to do it is to upload the iCal file to your Google Calendar account. The calendar will appear on your Android phone in just a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Apple computer with iCal
  • Google username and password

Step 1

Start iCal. Highlight the calendar you want to sync in the left-hand pane. Click "File," the click "Export." Save the file to a folder on your computer.

Step 2

Start Safari or another web browser. Enter "" in the address bar, then press "Enter."

Step 3

Log in using your Google username and password.

Step 4

Click the settings button (shaped like a gear wheel) in the top corner. Click "Calendar settings," then "calendars."

Step 5

Click "import calendar," then "Browse." Navigate to the folder you saved your ical file to in Step one. Click the file, then click "Open." Click "Import."
