How to Sync Our Roku to Our Netflix Account

By Andrea Reuter

The Roku digital video player, introduced in 2008, is a Netflix-ready device for streaming instant videos to your television. The Roku connects to your television and uses either a wired or wireless home Internet connection to stream media from Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, HuluPlus, Pandora instant radio and dozens of other channels. The Netflix service requires a membership, and you should sign up for a Netflix account before attempting to use Netflix on your Roku.

Step 1

Switch your television to the input channel used by your Roku player.

Step 2

Select Netflix from the device's home screen using the Roku remote control. Choose "Yes -- Activate Streaming from Netflix." An activation code will appear on the screen.

Step 3

Log in to your Netflix account on your computer. Select the "Watch Instantly" tab, then click on "Instantly to Your TV."

Step 4

Enter the code that appears on your television screen and press the "Activate Now" button to sync your Roku device to your Netflix account.
