How to Sync Photos From Your iPad to Your Computer

By Robin Noelle

By using iTunes, you can easily sync your photos between your computer and your iPad. There are many great photo-editing and enhancement applications available for the iPad. Transfer your photos over, open them in the app and then, when you've perfected the look, transfer them back to your computer or send them to your wireless printer for printing via Bluetooth.

Things You'll Need

  • USB cable included with your iPad

Step 1

Open iTunes, click Help and check for updates to make sure you're running the latest version. If you haven't installed iTunes already, go to the Apple website and download it for free.

Step 2

Connect your iPad to your computer using the included USB cable. If iTunes isn't already running, it will open automatically. Your iPad will be listed in the sidebar column on the left.

Step 3

Click your device in the sidebar. Your iPad's settings will appear in the main iTunes window.

Step 4

Click the Photos tab. Use the pull-down menu to select where you want to sync photos from on your computer. You can then choose to sync all photos or just specific photo directories. Click Apply to apply your changes. Sync your iPad to transfer photos from the computer to the iPad.

Step 5

Edit your photos. You can edit the photos in any one of the many photo-editing apps available from the iTunes store. Once you've created the photo you want, sync your iPad again to transfer the new photo back to your computer.
