How to Take a Facebook Profile Picture

By Techwalla Contributor

Facebook has become a pop culture phenomenon. Its influence cannot be denied; it's everywhere! So it becomes very important to have an attractive Facebook profile picture, for employment, enjoyment or just because.

Step 1

BRAINSTORM FACEBOOK PROFILE PICTURE before taking it so you have an idea of how you want it to look. It's best to go with a picture that looks professional, but also expresses who you are because you never know who will be looking at your profile.

Step 2

TAKE THE PICTURE using either a camera phone or a digital camera. Cameras on average will take better looking pictures, but there are some cell phones that look just as good. Setup the shot and take a few pictures until you get the one you want.

Step 3

UPLOAD THE PICTURE TO FACEBOOK. First, upload the photo onto your computer using a USB cord or by emailing it to yourself. Next, log onto Facebook, go to Edit My Profile, then click Profile Picture. Click Browse, and then find the photo on your computer.

Step 4

REVIEW PROFILE PICTURE after it's been uploaded to make sure everything is in order, and there is nothing embarrassing or incriminating in the photo.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't upload sexually explicit, incriminating or copyrighted photos onto your Facebook profile. Your profile may be banned as a result.
