How to Transfer a GoDaddy SSL Between Accounts
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates encrypt sensitive information. Keep your site secure by transferring your SSL certificate from one hosting account to another when necessary. GoDaddy's SSL certificate manager will feature a "Transfer" button if the option is available to you. The "Transfer" button only appears when a SSL certificate shares a common name with the domain name on the target hosting account. If the names do not match, you must purchase a new SSL certificate. Grid Hosting, Quick Shopping Cart, WebSite Tonight and Dream Web Site subscribers may access this feature when it is an option.
Visit GoDaddy's Secure Certificate Services page and click "Log in to GoDaddy."
Log in with your username and password when the login screen appears.
Choose the "Manage Certificates" tab from within the "Secure Certificate Services" window.
Select the "Certificates," then "Filters" folder and select the SSL certificate that needs to be moved.
Click the "Transfer" button and indicate the SSL certificate's new target location.
Tips & Warnings
- SSL certificates may not be transferred to free hosting or dedicated server accounts.
