How to Transfer a Photo in Email to Facebook

By Robert Schrader

Even with the meteoric rise of social media, email remains an important tool for communicating with friends, family, colleagues and other contacts. From time to time, you may need to send a specific image to one of your contacts and you can do so by simply attaching the image file to an email and clicking the "Send" button. Friends and others can email photos to you in the same way. If you receive an email with a great photo, you can share it on Facebook in a few easy steps.

Step 1

Log in to your email account and open the message containing the photo that you want to share on Facebook. Click the "Save File" button to save the image attachment to your hard drive; or, if your contact has embedded the image within the email, right-click on it and click "Save As."

Step 2

Navigate to the Facebook website and log in to your account. Click your profile picture or name in the upper left corner of the website. Click the "Photos" button on the left side of your profile.

Step 3

Click the "Upload Photos" button to upload your photo to a new album. Alternatively, click an existing photo album and then click the "Add Photos" button at the top of the page to add photos to that album.

Step 4

Browse your computer's hard drive for the image you saved from the email and click "Open." Wait for the upload to complete, then tag or caption your photo if you wish.
