How to Translate English to Spanish in Google

Google provides translation tools that can translate more than 50 different languages, including English and Spanish. These translation tools use statistical machine translation, which analyzes patterns in documents translated by human translators to approximate the correct translation, according to the Google Translate website. You can quickly translate long texts using the Google Translate website. For single words or short phrases, you can obtain a translation from the Google search engine.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with Internet access

Using Google Translate

Step 1

Copy the text you want to translate.

Step 2

Navigate to the Google Translate Web page.

Step 3

Paste the text into the text box.

Step 4

Select "English" from the drop-down menu after "From."

Step 5

Select "Spanish" from the drop-down menu after "To."

Step 6

Click the "Translate" button.

Using Google Search

Step 1

Navigate to the Google search Web page.

Step 2

Type "translate," followed by the phrase you want to translate and then "to Spanish" into the search box.

Step 3

Click "Search" or press the Enter key on your keyboard. Google will automatically return a translation for the phrase you typed.
