The Avira Firewall is a component of the Avira Security Suite. The Firewall protects your system from data threats by monitoring all incoming traffic to your computer. The Firewall allows you to set guidelines to regulate and control the data that enters and leaves your computer. The Firewall may prevent some applications from installing, or stop essential services from starting. You can turn off the Avira Firewall temporarily if you need to perform an operation, such as installing a program.
Right-click the "AntiVir Guard" icon in the system tray of the taskbar. The AntiVir Guard icon looks like an open umbrella in a red box.
Click "Firewall" in the pop-up menu.
Click "Disable Firewall" to disable the Firewall. Windows displays a pop-up message confirming that the Avira Firewall is disabled.
