How to Turn Off Sticky Keys on Windows 7

By Sharon Harp

Sticky Keys is a feature of Windows 7 that makes it easier to engage certain shortcuts, like Ctrl-Alt-Delete, by letting you press each key separately instead of having to press them all at once. If you don't use or need this feature and find it to be more troublesome than it is useful, you can disable it by modifying the system properties on your computer.

Step 1

Click the "Start" button, and open the "Control Panel."

Step 2

Open the "Ease of Access" center, then click on the "Change how your keyboard works" link.

Step 3

Uncheck the "Turn on Sticky Keys" option.

Step 4

Click "OK."
